Edward L. Romero (born in January 2, 1934) is an entrepreneur and American diplomat who served as the U.S. Ambassador to Spain and Andorra between 1998 and 2001. He was also one of the founders of the Hispanic Cultural Foundation and the National Hispanic Cultural Center in New Mexico, the Advanced Sciences, Inc., the Chamber of Commerce Albuquerque Hispano, the Board of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and of "Valor Telecommunications Southwest, LLC." == Biography == Romæro was born on January 2, 1934 〔 in Alamosa, Colorado. So, he (and others people) formed an activist group, called "Veterans Against" Vietnam that eventually became an anti-Vietnam group. After the Vietnam war, he becoming in official of Democratic Party and, over time, he became the county chairman of the Democratic party.〔 He has been a member of the Advisory Committee on Services´s Policy U.S. Representative for International Trade, leading some U.S. delegations to Mexico〔 and belonged also to the President's Hispanic Advisory Committee. Interested in the environment, he founded the Advanced Sciences, Inc.,〔〔 a corporation of environmental engineering and waste management - recently merged with Commodore Applied Technologies, Inc., a company listed on Bolsa, which is also president and director.〔 In addition, was a founding member of the Chamber of Commerce Albuquerque Hispano and the Board of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.〔〔 Well as of the Hispanic Cultural Foundation and the National Hispanic Cultural Center in New Mexico.〔〔 He is also one of the founders of "Valor Telecommunications Southwest, LLC." In June 23, 1998, he was appointed by President Bill Clinton as United States Ambassador to Spain, being confirmed as such by the Senate on June 23 of that year.
